There are several different "challenge caches" which are geocaches that require you to complete a set of requirements before you are able to log your find. (ie, there is more to logging the find than just physically finding the cache) Here are a few that I have completed or am currently working towards completion.
- Well Rounded Cacher - This challenge requires that you find at least one cache of every difficulty / terrain rating possible. That's eighty-one (81) different combinations.
- North Carolina Delorme - This cache requires that you find at least one cache in every page of the DeLorme atlas. I completed this using the sixth edition.
- North Carolina County - This cache requires that you find at least one cache in every of the one hundred (100) counties in North Carolina.
- North Carolina T-Shirt Challenge - This cache requires you to find caches from the NCGO Greatest Hits Bookmark list that were put on the NCGO T-Shirt. The challenge is to complete one of the four color groups.
- Caching from A to Z - This cache requires that you find at least one cache for every letter of the alphabet.
- One Busy Day - This cache requires that you find at least six different types of caches in one calendar day.
